Space Shooter
A browser-playable tribute to the Scratch game Space Shooter - 2 player!!!. Same sprites, controls, scoring, and optional two-player co-op.
This is dedicated to Mr. Coopersmith, my first computer science teacher and mentor, who has since passed away. Space Shooter was the first game we built together back when I was in 2nd grade. He did most of the work, and I watched, learned, and caught the knack for coding & engineering. That project started me on the path to making games and writing code, and rebuilding it here keeps that beginning alive.
How to play
- Player 1: arrow keys to move, Space to shoot.
- Player 2 (keyboard): A / D to move, Q to shoot, N to show ship, M to hide.
- Score:+1 per second survived, +5 per enemy, +10 for Big Trouble. Don't let enemies hit your ship.
- Pause: P or click away from the canvas (click back to resume).
- Arcade rules: enemies speed up as your score grows, a third enemy appears after 30 points, and rapid kills build combos (+2 bonus every 3-kill streak).
- All-time score is shared across visitors; your session best stays in this browser tab.
